Actresses Rosario Dawson, Rose McGowan and Marley Shelton, the women of Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez's upcoming "Grindhouse" will host Spike TV's SCREAM AWARDS 2006, airing Tuesday, October 10.The event, taping at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood October 7, will reach an estimated 750 million people in 90 countries.
Fan favorite Dawson starred in "Descent," "Sin City," "Men in Black II", McGowan in "Scream," "Charmed," "The Black Dahlia" and Shelton in "Sin City," "American Dreamz," "The Last Kiss".
"Spike TV's SCREAM AWARDS 2006 is the first and biggest event to honor the unique creative talent in the Horror, Sci Fi, Fantasy and Comics genres, all under one roof," said Casey Patterson, executive producer/senior vice president event production for Spike TV.
Also on the show, the band 'My Chemical Romance' will perform "Welcome to the Black Parade," from their album, "The Black Parade," to be released on Reprise Records, October 24th.
Also setting the mood for the festivities will be the metal band 'Korn'.
Big honors of the night include the first recipient of the "Comic-Con Icon Award," to Frank Miller. The man behind comic book-to-films "Sin City" and Montreal-shot "300," has been instrumental in creating an appreciation for comic books and related pop art forms.
Spike TV's SCREAM AWARDS 2006 will also present special honors to Ozzy Osbourne, Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, with exclusive sneak peeks of upcoming films, "Death Proof" and "Planet Terror".
The SCREAM AWARDS will also have appearances by Marilyn Manson, Eva Mendes, Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, Jay Hernandez, Rob Zombie and the cast of Vancouver-shot "Battlestar Galactica".
