"Hellboy 2: The Golden Army" picks up after the events of the first film, with 'Hellboy' and girlfriend 'Liz' living together.
Aquatic 'Abe Sapien' lives in a water tank, with updated breathing gear for walking around in.
'Agent Tom Manning', of the 'Bureau of Paranormal Research and Development' is still trying to deal with Hellboy’s antics.
During the opening credits, a Manhattan auction house is attacked by a sword-wielding 'elf', 'troll' and 'tooth fairies'.
Hellboy comes to the rescue, but is seen by reporters, becoming an overnight media sensation, complete with autograph hounds, hate mail and an appearance on Jay Leno.
The elf from the opening turns out to be the 'prince' of all elves, son of the leader of the fairy realm and bent on reclaiming the Earth with a 'Golden Army', consisting of 10,000 goblin-built robots.
