"I Am Legion"



Producer Pierre Spengler has announced a 12-picture movie slate drawn from the catalog of French graphic novel publisher Humanoides Associes.

The first title prepping will be "I Am Legion", adapted from the graphic novel from writer Fabien Nury and illustrator John Cassaday.

Cassaday will follow in the footsteps of graphic artist Frank "Sin City" Miller to make the transition to film director for the movie adaptation, scripted by Nury.

With a budgeted estimated at $15 million, the feature is due to begin shooting in 2007 in Croatia.

Spengler will produce alongside former Humanoides president Fabrice Giger.

The release in August 2004, of the 55-page, prestige format comic book "I Am Legion", was a result of DC Comics teaming up with European publisher Humanoids.

Premise of the story begins in 1942 where a crime has occured in the center of London’s elite circles. As a team of special investigators is employed, the resistance in Europe is struggling to survive against the Axis onslaught, while a young girl is experimented upon, with the ability to control the minds and actions of others.


Other proposed titles in the film lineup include an adaptation of the "Meta-Barons" series by Alexandro Jodorowsky.
