Crowe Plays Good Cop in "Tenderness"


Actor Jon Foster has been cast opposite Russell Crowe in Australian director John Polson's thriller "Tenderness" for New York City-based Greene Street Films.

Sophie Traub and Laura Dern also star in the film, currently shooting in New York.

Premise of "Tenderness" follows a violent teenager (Foster), with Crowe as a good cop who tries to unravel the teen's complicated past.

Emil Stern wrote the screenplay, adapted from the novel by author Robert Cormier.

Producers are Greene Street president John Penotti, Charles Randolph and Howard Meltzer. Fisher Stevens and Tim Williams executive produce.

Crowe's next film is director Sir Ridley Scott's "American Gangster".
