Jones and Silvstedt Ready to "Carry On London"

Fourteen years after Carry On Columbus, actor Vinnie "Juggernaut" Jones will star in Carry On London, the 32nd feature in the Carry On screwball comedy movie series.

Prepping to shoot this summer in London, Jones will be joined by former EastEnders actor Shane Richie and Playboy model Victoria Silvstedt, a former Miss Sweden and Maxim Woman of the Year.

The $15 million budgeted film will be directed by Peter Richardson, best known for the Brit TV series The Comic Strip Presents.

"It really kept me laughing through my youth," said Jones, "so it's great news that I'm part of that tradition and able to introduce it to my own kids."

Premise of Carry On London follows 'Lenny's Limos', hired to take celebrities to a new film awards ceremony.

In typical Carry On style, the script descends into a maelstrom of sexy, corny gags and slapstick humour as gangsters, starlets and three hapless drivers careen through the West End of London.

Thirty Carry On films were made at the UK's Pinewood Studios, between 1958 and 1978, with casts that included the era's comedy greats including actors Sid James, Hattie Jacques, Charles Hawtrey and Kenneth Williams.

Producer Peter Rogers, who created the series will be back to produce again.

"Here we go again," said Rogers.

"I could say this is where I came in - but, in fact, it's where I intend to go, with a new team of players ..."

Intandem Films aims to re-launch the Carry On brand to create a new generation of fans.

"We believe that this film will certainly please the faithful fans but also appeal to a young new audience," said Intandem's Garry Smith.
