Warners Cuts A New Deal With "Conan" ...

Warner Bros. Production President Jeff Robinov says a new "Conan" live action feature film is in the works and that the studio "is committed to producing the film within the next year."

Warners, having revived franchises with "Batman Begins" and the upcoming "Superman Returns", intends to produce "Conan" with a big budget.

According to sources, Robinov is going back to the original Robert E. Howard stories for inspiration.

"I love the character," he said.

"You have to get to the core of who the Conan character was."

The 'Conan' brand currently includes numerous tie-in products ranging from early Marvel Comics to the recent Dark Horse series, new editions of the original stories from Del Ray and video games.

The animated 2D/3D feature "Conan: Red Nails" is due to be released early next year.
