Warner Bros. TV has signed David Nutter to direct the pilot for The Sarah Connor Chronicles, a potential TV series spin-off adapting the Terminator movies.
The prolific Nutter, whose last 12 pilots have all been picked up to series, will serve as executive producer of the Sarah Connor series.
Andy Vajna and Mario Kassar's C2 Pictures, will co-produce in association with Warner Bros. TV.
Last fall Fox made a 'put pilot commitment' towards the concept, acquiring a script from executive producer Josh "War of the Worlds" Friedman.
Filming is expected to start next year in New Mexico, a fave tax-credit location currently hosting director Michael Bay's Paramount/DreamWorks' feature Transformers: Prime Directive.
Nutter previously directed pilots for Smallville, Without a Trace, Supernatural and James Cameron's Dark Angel.
"It's important for me to live up, as best I can, to the bar that Jim Cameron set," Nutter said regarding the Terminator.
"This is a huge project that's going to take an extensive amount of preparation and pre-production."
In the series, Sarah's son 'John Connor' will explore what happened to his mother after the end of T2.
"She has the weight of the world on her shoulders, and she also has to raise a 14-year-old son who may be the salvation of the world."
Kicking off the 22nd Annual "Vancouver Fringe Festival" is a teaser night of 'unregulated' and 'untamed' shows September 6.
Theatre goers around Vancouver's Lower Mainland will be able to get an early taste of the "Fringe" as 12 shows take to the stage to perform five minute snippets from their live productions.
Doors and silent auction open at 7 PM and the Preview Gala starts at 8 PM, as a special fundraiser including:
-big word performance poetry from "Jem Rolls";
-"The Best of the Pajama Men" courtesy Second City Theatricals;
-dance fave Jolene Bailie offers a performance from "Switchback";
-20 year "Fringe" vet Jacques Lalonde stars in "One Crazy Frenchman";
-Sticky Fingers gets hands on with the puppetry show "Down the Drain";
-Anton Smuts does "Stealing Venus";
-mother-daughter Jane and Tair Chen, perform in "The Chinese Clown Cabaret";
-Colette Kendall presents "Tippi Seagram’s Happy Hour";
-Alex Dallas is the "Drama Queen";
The special Preview Gala will be hosted by stand-up comic Charlie Demers.
The "Vancouver Fringe Festival" is an eleven day celebration of 'unjuried, unregulated, untamed, unnaturally tasty theatre' in and around Granville Island September 7th to 17th.

Actor Jason Behr has joined the cast of "The Tattooist", for first-time feature director Peter Burger.
Based on a screenplay by Matthew Grainger/Jonathan King, premise of "The Tattooist" will focus on a tattoo artist who becomes fascinated by the Samoan 'tatau' tradition.
As the man gets more involved with the ancient skill, he unknowingly unleashes a deadly spirit.
Filming of "The Tattooist" is scheduled for jungle locations in New Zealand.
