Got Fringe ? "Vancouver Fringe Festival"


Kicking off the 22nd Annual "Vancouver Fringe Festival" is a teaser night of 'unregulated' and 'untamed' shows September 6.

Theatre goers around Vancouver's Lower Mainland will be able to get an early taste of the "Fringe" as 12 shows take to the stage to perform five minute snippets from their live productions.

Doors and silent auction open at 7 PM and the Preview Gala starts at 8 PM, as a special fundraiser including:

-big word performance poetry from "Jem Rolls";

-"The Best of the Pajama Men" courtesy Second City Theatricals;

-dance fave Jolene Bailie offers a performance from "Switchback";

-20 year "Fringe" vet Jacques Lalonde stars in "One Crazy Frenchman";

-Sticky Fingers gets hands on with the puppetry show "Down the Drain";

-Anton Smuts does "Stealing Venus";

-mother-daughter Jane and Tair Chen, perform in "The Chinese Clown Cabaret";

-Colette Kendall presents "Tippi Seagram’s Happy Hour";

-Alex Dallas is the "Drama Queen";

The special Preview Gala will be hosted by stand-up comic Charlie Demers.

The "Vancouver Fringe Festival" is an eleven day celebration of 'unjuried, unregulated, untamed, unnaturally tasty theatre' in and around Granville Island September 7th to 17th.
