“Trust Me, I’m A Doctor”, is a new biographical ‘dark comedy’ feature, written and directed by Thane Economou, based on the memoirs of ‘Dr. Sandeep Kapoor’, who was implicated in the death of actress/model Anna Nicole Smith, starring Linda Hamilton as defense attorney ‘Ellyn Garofalo’, Kal Penn as ‘Kapoor’ and Abbie Cornish as ‘Smith’, releasing October 16, 2026 in theaters:

“…’Dr. Sandeep Kapoor’ is a physician whose life is upended following the 2007 overdose death of his patient, ‘Anna Nicole Smith’.

“Set against the chaotic backdrop of the early 2000s tabloid era, the film chronicles the high-stakes legal battle and media circus that erupt when Dr. Kapoor is wrongfully charged in a major drug conspiracy case. 

“As police raids, leaked private journals, and relentless paparazzi push him to the brink, he fights to clear his name and salvage his reputation with the help of his fierce defense attorney, ‘Ellyn Garofalo’.”
