“Nashville” on ROKU

Now that there is renewed interest in the life of late actress Hayden Panettiere, Roku is airing a marathon of all 6 seasons (124 -one hour episodes) of the 2012 music industry drama TV series “Nashville” created by “Thelma and Louise” Oscar winner Callie Khouri, starring ‘Festus’ look-alike Charles Estun, as a violent peacemaking alcoholic and Connie Britton as aging country music star ‘Rayna Jaymes’, alongside a cast of scumbag characters, including greaseball record company executives, psycho parents, lying politicians, killers, creeps and young, naive singer/songwriters, with everybody screwing everybody and Panettiere, singing her heart out as the vain and insecure pop star ‘Juliette Barnes’:

“…the initial plot centers on a rivalry between ‘Rayna Jaymes’, a legendary superstar whose fame is fading…

“…and ‘Juliette Barnes’, a  vulnerable, young, ambitious pop star.

“The series explores the cutthroat nature of the music industry, personal redemption, and family secrets…

“…against the backdrop of Rayna fighting to stay relevant while managing her family life and record label…

“…versus Juliette's meteoric and often chaotic rise to stardom.

“The deep, complicated personal and professional bond between Rayna…

“…and her longtime guitarist/former lover, ‘Deacon Claybourne’, is just one of the struggles covered…

“…including back stories of up-and-coming artists like ‘Scarlett O'Connor’, ‘Gunnar Scott’  and ‘Avery Barkley’ as they try to break into the business…

“…navigating sexuality, addiction, grief…

“…and the intense pressure of public exposure.”
