Considered his best film, alongside “The Wild Bunch”, Sam Peckinpah’s 1971 action feature “Straw Dogs”, stars Dustin Hoffman and Susan George, based on author Gordon M. Williams’ 1969 novel, “The Siege of Trencher's Farm”, now streaming restored and for free at SneakPeekTV.com:

“…’David Sumner’ (Hoffman), a mild-mannered American mathematician marries immature Enlishwoman ‘Amy’ (George).

“In order to escape a hectic stateside lifestyle, David and his wife relocate to the small town in rural Cornwall where Amy was raised. 

“There, David is instantly ostracized by the drunken men of the village, including Amy's old flame, ‘Charlie’ (Del Henney).
