US Demands Tariffs on Film

US President Trump wants to impose a 100 per cent tariff on movies produced outside his country, a move timed to change the Canadian film landscape, although its not clear, how such a tax would work, given how intertwined the global film industry is: 

Will the tariffs apply to Toronto-shot movies and TV series on streaming services as well as those shown in theaters…

…or would they be calculated based on production costs and box office revenue ?

With major US studios and streamers in Canada, shooting originals, big budget tentpoles…
