All the talk about ‘Hollywood’ dominance in the movie industry, doesn’t account for the new China-produced animated fantasy feature “Ne Zha 2”, written and directed by Jiaozi, based on the Chinese mythological character and 16th-century novel “Investiture of the Gods”, currently the world’s top-grossing film of 2025, so far earning $2.1 billion (usd) at the international box office:
