Oliver Stone’s “JFK’

With the recent release of 80,000 documents relating to the assassination of ‘John F. Kennedy’, there is renewed interest in writer/director Oliver Stone’s Oscar-winning, 1991 political thriller “JFK’, examining an investigation by New Orleans district attorney ‘Jim Garrison’, who believed there was a government conspiracy to kill the president:

Based on books “On the Trail of the Assassins” by Garrison and “Crossfire: The Plot That Killed Kennedy” by Jim Marrs…

…Stone described his take as a ‘counter-myth’ to the cover-up of the ‘Warren Commission', with the death of Kennedy as part of a  government and organized crime “coup d'état’, to install ambitious  ‘Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson’ as POTUS.

“JFK’ was nominated for eight ‘Academy Awards’, including ‘Best Picture’, winning two for ‘Best Cinematography’ and ‘Best Film Editing’.
