"Daredevil: Born Again"

The new "Daredevil" live-action TV series "Daredevil: Born Again" starts shooting February 2023 in New York City, not as a continuation of the Netflix TV series , but as a fresh 'reboot' according to actor Charlie Cox, who reprises his role as blind vigilante crime-fighter 'Matt Murdock':

"It is a Season 1, it is not Season 4, so it is a whole new thing," Cox said. "Which I think is the way to go. If you are going to do it again, do it differently...right now I'm just buzzing that it's kind of happening again, it's starting up again.

"And I don't know where it's going, I don't know how much involvement I'm going to have, I don't know what it's leading to, but it feels like we're born again.

"And so I feel like I'm getting a second chance at the dream job I refer to as...'the gift that keeps on giving.'"

"Daredevil" was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and illustrators Bill Everett and Jack Kirby, debuting in Daredevil #1 (April 1964).

"...growing up in the gritty crime-ridden neighborhood Hell's Kitchen in New York City, 'Matt Murdock' is blinded by a radioactive substance that falls from an out-of-control truck after he pushes a man out of the path of the oncoming vehicle.

"While he can no longer see, his exposure to the radioactive material heightens his remaining senses beyond normal human ability, and gives him a 'radar sense'. His father, boxer 'Jack Murdock' is a single man raising his now blind son, who despite his rough upbringing, unconditionally loves his son and tries to teach him to form a better life for himself.

"His father is later killed by gangsters after refusing to throw a fight, leaving Matt an orphan. In order to protect himself, Matt began training to hone his physical abilities and superhuman senses under the tutelage of a mysterious blind stranger named 'Stick', eventually becoming a highly skilled and expert martial artist.

"Some years later, after graduating from law school with high grades, Matt seeks out the criminal element in Hell's Kitchen and starts his crime-fighting activities. Matt targets the local gangsters who murdered his father and succeeds in bringing them to justice.

"Donning a costume to disguise his identity, Matt took up a dual life of fighting against the criminal underworld in New York City as the masked vigilante 'Daredevil'..."

The "Daredevil" TV series was created by Drew Goddard for the streaming service Netflix, based on the Marvel Comics character', produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios.
