Marvel’s “The Mandalorian”


Marvel Comics new title “Star Wars: The Mandalorian” #1, available July 13, 2022 is an eight-issue, episode-by-episode retelling of the live-action Disney+ series' first season from series creator and showrunner Jon Favreau:


“…The Marvel series adapts all eight episodes of the first season of ‘The Mandalorian’ following the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the ‘New Republic’.  As the protector of the ‘Child’ (aka ‘Baby Yoda’ ), the mission of ‘Din Djarin'(Pedro Pascal) takes him across the ‘Star Wars’ galaxy and encounters with ‘Kuiil’ (Nick Nolte), “Greef Karga’ (Carl Weathers), ‘Cara Dune’ (Gina Carano), ‘IG-11’ (Taika Waititi),  ‘The Armorer’ (Emily Swallows) and the ‘Imperial Moff Gideon’ (Giancarlo Esposito)…”


"In ‘The Mandalorian’ TV series, influenced by the 'Game of Thrones' format of telling multiple storylines at the same time, Jon Favreau returns as director, alongside cast member Carl Weathers and season one directors Dave Filoni and Rick Famuyiwa, plus newcomers Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez.


"With less startup costs than the first season, more of the budget was used for the show itself. George Lucas again visited the set, and gave Filoni tips on directing. 


"The season finished filming a few days before the March 2020 COVID-19 outbreak. 


"The post-production team had to adapt to the quarantine, with their biggest trouble being the recording of the musical score..."
