"Pinocchio" is the new live-action/computer-animated musical fantasy feature, directed by Robert Zemeckis ("Back To the Future") is a remake of the 1940 film, based on the 1883 Italian book "The Adventures of Pinocchio" by Carlo Collodi, starring Tom Hanks ("Road To Perdition"), Cynthia Erivo, Luke Evans, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Keegan-Michael Key and Lorraine Bracco, streaming September 8, 2022 on Disney+:

"...when the carpenter 'Geppetto'  sees a falling star, he wishes that the puppet he just finished, 'Pinocchio' could become a real boy.

"In the night, the 'Blue Fairy' grants Geppetto's wish and asks 'Jiminy Cricket' to serve as the wooden boy's conscience. But the naive and trusting Pinocchio, whose nose grows whenever he tells a lie, falls into the clutches of the wicked 'Honest John' who leads him astray to the sinful 'Pleasure Island'..."
