Marvel Comics #1 Sells For $2.4 Million

A ten cent copy of Marvel Comics #1 (1939), noted as the first superhero comic book ever published by the company, has sold for $2.4 million at auction:

Graded 9.2 out of 10,  Marvel Comics #1 is the first superhero comic published by the company in 1939 and is the first appearance of both ‘Namor the Sub-Mariner’ and the original ‘Human Torch’.

 "It's an incredibly important look into the world and behind the scenes of the creation of a comics powerhouse," said ComicConnect’s Vincent Zurzolo who conducted the auction.
