“Masters of the Universe”

Mattel Films are developing a new “Masters of the Universe” live-action feature film starring Kyle Allen (“West Side Story”) as ‘Prince Adam’/‘He-Man’, directed by the Nee Brothers (“The Lost City”) starting production Summer 2022 for Netflix:

Under the direction of executive producer Lou Scheimer, the original Filmation cartoon "He-Man and the Masters Of The Universe", debuted September 5, 1983 with the episode "The Diamond Ray of Disappearance".

Running through 2 seasons, "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe", was one of the first animated series produced directly for weekday syndication, as opposed to re-runs primarily based on Saturday mornings. Totaling 130 episodes, with each season of 65 episodes stretching across 13 weeks, the series last aired "The Cold Zone", November 21, 1985.

The series is set on 'Eternia', ruled by 'King Randor' and 'Queen Marlena'. Their son, 'Prince Adam', can secretly transform into the powerful 'He-Man'.

"...following a vicious 'Orlax' attack on his father 'King Randor', 'He-Man' learns the creature is linked to the origin of the sword of power.

"To save 'Randor' and put an end to the chaos He-Man embarks on an epic journey that pits him against his longtime foes ''Skeletor' and 'Evil-Lyn', while 'Teela' take' the reins of a powerful legacy..."
