Spielberg's "Conquistador"

Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television continues developing a four-hour TV miniseries based on the saga of Spanish 'conquistador' 'Hernán Cortés' (Javier Bardem), to be written by Steven Zaillian ("Schindler's List") based on a script by 1950's writer Dalton Trumbo ("Spartacus"):

Trumbo's original script "Montezuma", explored the relationship between 'Cortes' and 'Montezuma II' (1460–1520)...

...the ninth 'Aztec' emperor, killed during the Spanish conquest of Mexico, bolstered by an army of more than 200,000 natives opposed to the cruel human-sacrificing Aztec regime.
