Take a look at actress Anya Taylor-Joy ("Peaky Blinders"), starring as the mutant 'Magik', in the upcoming feature "The New Mutants", posing for "Rollacoaster" magazine, wearing Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior and a whole lot more, photographed by Lara Jade:
'Magik' debuted in Marvel Comics' "Giant-Size X-Men" #1 (May 1975), as the younger sister of the Russian 'X-Men' member 'Colossus'.
Magik is a 'mutant', born with superhuman abilities...
...with a natural ability to 'teleport' herself and others through time and space.
She does this by summoning 'stepping discs'...
...which were part of a dimension known as 'Limbo'.
Magik has succeeded in teleporting herself across continents, as well as interplanetary and intergalactic distances.
Magik can also teleport through time, teleporting moments...
...days and centuries into the past and future.
"...in 'The New Mutants' movie, held in a secret facility against their will, five new 'mutants' have to battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past. They aren’t out to save the world — they’re just trying to save themselves."
"We are making a full-fledged horror movie set within the 'X-Men' universe," said director Josh Boone.
"There are no costumes. There are no super-villains. We’re trying to do something very, very different."
"We loved Bill Sienkiewicz’s run with Chris Claremont that had 'Demon Bear'. It was really dark, interesting, and different from the typical 'X-Men' stories that we had read...
'Demon Bear' draws power from negative human emotion, with the abilities of teleportation and the power to corrupt human souls.
