According to Diamond Distributors, Marvel Comics was the top comic book publisher in 2019, but DC Comics' "Detective Comics" #1,000 was the year's best seller. Marvel had 40.20 percent of the dollar share to 29.29 percent for second-place DC. Marvel had 44.72 percent of market share to 30.74 percent for DC:
