Netflix is developing BOOM! Studios 6-issue graphic novel "The Unsound" (2017), by writer Cullen Bunn and illustrator Jack T. Cole, to be directed as a live-action feature by David F. Sandberg ("Shazam!"):
"...the first day of nurse 'Ashli' at 'Saint Cascia Psychiatric Hospital' turns into a nightmare as a riot sends her fleeing into the bowels of the hospital. Her descent takes her to a hellish world populated by lunatics and monsters, cloaked in a secret history of black magic and heinous scientific experiments..."
Producers of the new film are Sandberg, his wife Lotta Lotsen, with BOOM! Studios' Ross Richie and Stephen Christy.
BOOM! Studios' is currently working with the Walt Disney Company in a live-action adaptation of the 4-issue miniseries "Imagine Agents" (2013), by writer Brian Joines and illustrator Bacha, to be directed by Rashida Jones ("Parks and Recreation").
