Disney Shooting "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" In Georgia



Despite Disney's threatened boycott of film production in the state of Georgia, following the company's recent opposition to a 'Heartbeat Bill'  Marvel is reportedly moving ahead with the Disney+ 6-episode live action miniseries "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier", to be directed by Kari Skogland, shooting in Atlanta, Georgia targeting a 2020 streaming release:


Written by Malcolm Spellman ("Empire"), cast includes Emily VanCamp as 'Sharon Carter'/'Agent 13' and Daniel Brühl as 'Zemo', with Anthony Mackie as the 'Falcon', prevented by the government from becoming the next 'Captain America'.


'Sam Wilson', aka 'Falcon', debuted in Marvel Comics "Captain America" #117 (September 1969), using mechanical wings to fly...


...with a limited telepathic and empathic control over birds.


Mackie has played the character in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" (2014), "Avengers: Age of Ultron" (2015), "Ant-Man" (2015), "Captain America: Civil War" (2016), "Avengers: Infinity War" (2018) and "Avengers: Endgame" (2019).


'James Buchanan Barnes' was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby debuting in Timely Comics' "Captain America Comics" #1 (March 1941). 


The character is brought back from supposed death as the brainwashed assassin 'Winter Soldier'.



Sebastian Stan has appeared as 'Bucky' in "Captain America: The First Avenger" (2011), "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" (2014), "Ant-Man (2015), "Captain America: Civil War" (2016), "Black Panther" (2018), "Avengers: Infinity War" (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).
