Columbia Pictures' "Black Cat"

Marvel Comics' "The Amazing Spider-Man" #16, available March 6, 2019, in support of Columbia Pictures' developing 'Black Cat' "Spider-Man" spin-off feature, is written by Nick Spencer and illustrated by Iban Coello, with a cover by Greg Land:

"...in this 'Hunted' tie-in, the luck of 'Black Cat' is on the rise. She came out of the run-in with the 'Thieves Guild' still intact, her bridges with 'Spider-Man' are mostly mended and the world is her oyster. But the job she just took is going to change everything..."

'Black Cat' created by writer Marv Wolfman, was inspired by the Tex Avery-directed cartoon short "Bad Luck Blackie".

'Black Cat' debuted in "The Amazing Spider-Man" #194 (July 1979).

"After suffering a traumatic event as a college freshman, she trained herself in various fighting styles and acrobatics and, after deciding to follow in her father's footsteps, adopted her costumed identity as the 'Black Cat'..."
