RIP Stan Lee



Stan Lee, the comic-book writer, editor and publisher has died. Lee was editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics and later its publisher and chairman, leading Marvel's expansion from a small division of a publishing house to a large multimedia corporation:


"...in collaboration with several artists, particularly Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko...


"...Lee co-created superhero characters 'Spider-Man', the 'Hulk', 'Doctor Strange', the 'Fantastic Four', 'Daredevil', 'Black Panther' and the 'X-Men'.


"With co-writer Larry Lieber, Lee created more crime-fighters including 'Ant-Man', 'Iron Man' and 'Thor'...


"...while pioneering a more inclusive, personal approach to comic book writing...



"...during the drug-influenced 1960's..."


Following his retirement from Marvel, Lee remained a public figurehead for the company..


...and frequently made cameo appearances in 'Marvel Cinematic Universe' films...


...while continuing with several creative ventures including POW! Entertainment.
