"John and Yoko"

Universal has attached filmmaker Jean-Marc Vallee ("Big Little Lies") to write and direct a John Lennon and Yoko Ono biopic, following the lives of murdered Beatles' founder John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono:

"...Lennon first met Ono at London, UK's 'Indica Gallery' in 1966, where he asked to hammer a nail into one of her paintings for five shillings per nail, only to instead agree to nail imaginary ones into the painting for imaginary money.

"After Lennon and Ono staged an international  'bed-in'/'love-in' for the press...

"...promoting an end to the Viet Nam war...

"...and the subsequent protests that followed...

"...the couple settled in New York City with their baby son Sean in relative obscurity...

"...until a cover story in "Esquire" magazine, November 1980, profiled Lennon as a 'madcap' radical worth tens of millions of dollars, determined to 'starting over'.

"Lennon was ambushed and killed the following month, December 8, 1980."
