Director James Gunn, director of "Guardians of the Galaxy" has been fired from Disney after controversial tweets from the filmmaker resurfaced:
"The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James' Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio's values," said Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn...
"...and we have severed our business relationship with him."
"My days saying something just because it's shocking and trying to get a reaction are over," said Gunn.
Gunn was writing the screenplay for "Guardians of the Galaxy 3" when he got the news he was being sacked from Marvel Studios.
Some fans and cast of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies are upset by the decision by Disney, but Marvel Studios previously fired Brit director Edgar Wright from the first "Ant-Man" feature before settling on Peyton Reed to direct Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly in that film and the sequel "Ant-Man and The Wasp".
No word on when Disney will rein in Whoopi Goldberg for her frequent use of foul language, dramatic walk-offs and race-baiting antics on ABC's low-rated daytime talk show "The View".
