From BOOM! Studios and 20th Century Fox Consumer Products, the graphic novel "Planet of the Apes: Visionaries", available August 2018, is written by Rod Serling in a comic book format for the first time as a part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the film from Dana Gould and Chad Lewis:
The first 'Planet of The Apes' (1968) film was an adaptation of the French novel 'La Planète des Singes'. 20th Century Fox commissioned Rod Serling, creator of 'The Twilight Zone' to adapt the source material. However, Serling’s first draft was drastically revised for the finished film.
