Oscar winner Bill Condon ("Gods and Monsters") is confirmed to direct Universal's horror reboot " Bride Of Frankenstein", still in development as part of the studio's 'Dark Universe':
"...'Mary Shelley', author of 'Frankenstein', 'The Modern Prometheus', reveals to 'Percy Shelley' and 'Lord Byron' that 'Henry Frankenstein' and his 'Monster' did not die. Both lived, and went on to even stranger misadventures than before.
"But his old professor, the now disgraced 'Dr. Pretorius', appears unexpectedly.
The original "Bride of Frankenstein" (1935) was a sequel to Universal's "Frankenstein" (1931), both directed by James Whale.
Condon's "Gods and Monsters" (1998) focused on the final days of director Whale.
