"Solo: A Star Wars Story" - Disney Accused of 'Forgery' ?



According to France-based illustrator Hachim Bahous, Disney used Bahous' 2015 Sony Music 'Legacy' album covers and distinctive colors for a series of "Solo: A Star Wars Story" posters, with the artist claiming "pure and simple forgery" of his work:


Bahous wrote : "...left, the official posters of the next 'Star Wars' (Disney), right the compiles for which I made the creation in 2015 for 'Sony Music France'/'Legacy Recordings France'...


"I am flattered that the quality of my work is recognized, but it is still pure and simple forgery, I have not been asked for my permission, I wish to be credited and paid for this work...A thought for everyone who worked hard on this very beautiful project: Dj Reverend P (Patrice Larrar), Richard Lecocq, AurĂ©lien Orel, David Hachour, Yazid Manou and Yazid Manou So Romain ‘Rpiz’ Pizon..."


It is worth noting that a 'James Bond' novel by author Ian Fleming. "The Man with the Golden Gun" (1965) had a hardcover jacket with a similar style, so it may be difficult to prove that Balhous was the first to use such a design concept...
