Daniel Day-Lewis: "Phantom Thread"

"Phantom Thread" is the new, award-winning dramatic feature written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson ("There Will Be Blood"), opening December 25, 2017, starring 3-time Oscar winner Sir Daniel Day-Lewis, who said this will be his last film as an actor:

"...amid the glamour of London in the 1950's, renowned dressmaker 'Reynolds Woodcock' and his sister 'Cyril' dress members of the royal family, film stars, heiresses, socialites, debutants and dames...

"...in the distinctive style of 'The House of Woodcock'.

"Women come and go through Woodcock's life, providing the confirmed bachelor with inspiration and companionship, until he comes across 'Alma', a strong-willed woman who soon becomes a fixture in his life as a muse and lover.

"Once controlled and planned, Woodcock now finds his carefully tailored life disrupted by his passion..."

Like other acclaimed film actors who said they were quitting, but didn't, including Anthony Hopkins, Joaquin Phoenix and Liam Neeson, Day-Lewis may be gambling on his career, holding out for 'better parts'.

With the lack of good movie parts for mature leading men, Day-Lewis' gambling odds might improve if he checked out Canadian Casinos Online and their amazing offers and range of casino games.

But after 40 years in the acting game, Day-Lewis' spokeswoman, Leslee Dart has confirmed: "Daniel Day-Lewis will no longer be working as an actor and is immensely grateful to all of his collaborators and audiences over the many years..."
