"Batgirl" Movie Updates



DC Comics' "Batgirl" #17, in support of the developing "Batgirl" feature, is  written by Hope Larson and illustrated by Chris Wildgoose, with covers by Dan Mora and Joshua Middleton, available November 22, 2017:


"...in the 'Summer of Lies" finale, after falling down the rabbit hole, 'Batgirl' and 'Nightwing' must face off against the 'Red Queen'.


"How will our heroes survive this villain's vendetta? What could they have done in the past to inspire the queen's revenge?..."


"We are doing 'Batgirl' with Joss Whedon, and it's going to be super exciting," said DC 's Geoff Johns about the stand-alone "Batgirl" feature. 


'Batgirl' aka 'Betty Kane' (named after 'Batman' creator Bob Kane) debuted in DC Comics (1961) from illustrator Bill Finger and writer Sheldon Moldoff as 'Bat-Girl'...


...then replaced by 'Barbara Gordon' in 1967, the daughter of 'Gotham City' police commissioner 'James Gordon'...


...in "Detective Comics" #359, titled "The Million Dollar Debut of Batgirl!" (1967) by writer Gardner Fox and illustrator Carmine Infantino.
