"Spider-Man: Homecoming " - "Interview"

Former dancer Tom Holland, who plays acrobatic, spider-powered 'Peter Parker' in the upcoming feature "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is featured in the latest issue of "Interview" magazine:

"My mom thought I could dance because I used to dance to this Janet Jackson song she'd play when I was a baby," said Holland.

"I loved doing ballet. I trained for two years. I auditioned every six months for Billy Elliot and eventually I got the job.

"I'm very happy I had that training. It's been so valuable to my career, and I've used it on almost everything I've done since.

"...I auditioned for Spider-Man. The closer and closer I got, the more I wanted it. I must have been about 18 when I started auditioning...I did eight auditions. I did five self-tapes, and then a screen test.

"The thing that killed me was the waiting...Then Kevin Feige rang me up, telling me, 'I've got great news. You're going to be Spider-Man..."

"..a young 'Peter Parker'/'Spider-Man' (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in 'Captain America: Civil War'...

"...begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'.

"Thrilled by his experience with the 'Avengers', Peter returns home, where he lives with his hot 'Aunt May' (Marisa Tomei)...

"...under the watchful eye of his new mentor 'Tony Stark' (Robert Downey Jr.).

"Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself...

"...but when the 'Vulture' (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain...
