"The Batman" Updates

Actor Ben Affleck has forced Warners to postpone their stand-alone "The Batman" feature for another year, ordering up a new screenplay, to be rewritten by director Matt Reeves ("Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes"):

"There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions," said Affleck, still committed to starring in "The Batman", after playing 'Bruce Wayne' in "Batman vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice" and the upcoming "Justice League".

"Performing this role demands focus, passion, and the very best performance I can give...I am still in this, and we are making it...I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.

"...with Batman, I keep on getting, ‘Where’s the fucking Batman?!'

"I respect all of the movies. Christopher Nolan did an incredible job, Christian Bale did an incredible job, Tim Burton did an incredible job.

"At a certain point you have to look forward..."

"I go into that movie with a tremendous amount of respect for the people who came before me."
