"Logan" - Close On 'X-23'

Sneak Peek more of 'Laura Kinney' aka 11-year old 'X-23' (Dafne Keen) in director James Mangold's "Logan":

The character was created by writer Craig Kyle for the "X-Men: Evolution" (2003) TV series, as the 'clone' daughter of 'Wolverine'. with a regenerative healing factor, enhanced senses, speed and reflexes.

She also has retractable adamantium-coated bone claws in her hands and feet.

Cloned from a damaged copy of Wolverine's genome, X-23 was created to be the perfect killing machine. For years, she proved herself a capable assassin working for an organization called the Facility.

"LOGAN" SYNOPSIS (spoilers):

In the film, Laura is half Mexican, bred by a Spanish woman with Logan's DNA at 'Transigen'. 'Gabriela', a nurse at Transigen, helps Laura and the other bred, mutant children escape the facility after they discover the scientists planned to kill the children after they perfected their cloning procedure into 'X-24', an exact duplicate of the adult Logan, with no conscience.

Gabriela entrusts Logan to take Laura to "Eden," a safe haven for mutants across the border in Canada. Despite Logan's hesitation, he and the elderly 'Charles Xavier' agree to help Laura evade the 'Reavers' and get to the destination.

Over the course of the film, Laura finds out more about the outside world and bonds with Logan and Charles. Once Logan and Laura make it to Eden (as Charles was killed by X-24 during their journey), he entrusts Laura to the other children before departing on his own.

However, when the children are located and captured by the Reavers, he and Laura work together to defeat most of them before taking on X-24.

Logan is fatally wounded by the clone, but Laura takes down X-24 using an adamantium bullet Logan has been carrying around with him. Laura gives an emotional farewell to Logan and acknowledges him as her father before he dies in her arms. The children bury him before continuing their journey across the border. As they all leave, Laura returns to Logan's grave, removes the cross, and places it on its side to create an 'X'.
