New Images From The "Powers" TV Series

Sneak Peek new images from the Sony Pictures Television, "Powers" TV series, adapting Brian Michael Bendis' superhero comic book series:

Sharlto Copley ("District 9") plays 'Christian Walker' and Susan Heyward ("The Following") is 'Deena Pilgrim'.

"...two detectives, 'Christian Walker' and 'Deena Pilgrim' are assigned to investigate cases involving people with extraordinary abilities, referred to as 'Powers'.

"Set amidst today’s paparazzi culture, Powers asks the questions, what if the world was full of superheroes who aren’t actually heroic at all? What if all that power was just one more excuse for mischief, mayhem and endorsement deals?

"Enter the men and women of the 'Powers Division', the only people brave enough to go up against the overpaid, commercialized, superhumans who glide through the sky imposing their power over the crowds below who both worship and fear them..."

The first volume of "Powers" ran from 2000 to 2004. Subsequent volumes were published by Marvel Comics as part of their Icon publishing imprint.

"...'Powers' is set in a world where superpowers are relatively common,  following the lives of homicide police detectives 'Christian Walker' and 'Deena Pilgrim'.

"Walker used to be the costumed vigilante 'Diamond', but became a cop after he lost his abilities. Though stripped of his powers, he still retains his contacts within the superhero community.

"'Deena Pilgrim' contracted her superpowers during a fight with an underworld thug named the 'Bug'. As a result of this, she unintentionally kills an abusive boyfriend in self-defense, then hides the evidence, after coming under investigation by 'Internal Affairs'..."
