"Titans" : Enter 'Raven' and 'Starfire'

The small-screen will soon be awash in costumed-vigilante TV series, as DC Entertainment continues to expand their live-action universe with "Titans", a new cable series for TNT, based on DC Comics' "Teen Titans", with a pilot written by Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman and Marc Haimes:

"...'Titans' focuses on a group of young superheroes from the DC Comics Universe, including 'Dick Grayson' aka 'Robin', who takes on the new identity of 'Nightwing', to lead 'Starfire', 'Raven' and a whole lot more..."

The team first appeared in DC's "The Brave and the Bold" #54 (1964) as a "...junior 'Justice League'", featuring Grayson, 'Kid Flash' aka 'Wally West' and 'Aqualad' aka 'Garth', the sidekicks of Justice League members 'Batman', 'Flash' and 'Aquaman'.

The group made its first official appearance as "Teen Titans" in DC's "The Brave and the Bold" #60, joined by 'Wonder Girl' aka 'Donna Troy', who is the younger sister of 'Wonder Woman' and the sidekick of 'Green Arrow', 'Speedy' aka 'Roy Harper'.

A "Teen Titans" animated TV series, previously aired on 'Cartoon Network', July 2003 to January 2006. That series spawned two more comic book titles, titled "Teen Titans Go!" and "Tiny Titans". The TV series also returned as a series of mini-shorts on the 'DC Nation' block on Cartoon Network.
