Sony reports a positive quarterly earnings report, thanks to the success of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" and launch of the "PlayStation 4" video game console.
Sony's net income rose to $260 million, with operating income up 96.7 per cent from the previous year.
Overall sales were up 5.8 per cent.
Director Marc Webb's "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", released May 2, 2014, earned $202,408,526 domestic (North American) box office and $505,406,836 foreign, for a worldwide total of $707,815,362.
