"Star Wars: Episode VII" : Harrison Ford Seriously Injured On Set



Actor Harrison Ford reprising his role as 'Han Solo', was seriously injured and hospitalized during filming of "Star Wars: Episode VII" in the UK June 12, 2014, according to the following statement issued by Walt Disney Studios:


"...Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of 'Star Wars: Episode VII'. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates..."


According to eyewitness reports, Ford was @ Pinewood Studios when a hydraulic door from the 'Millennium Falcon' fractured his ankle after closing unexpectedly, also causing a pelvic injury when Ford fell down.


"...“Harrison, doing a stunt was hit by the prop door and looked in a bad way, falling to the ground in agony, clutching his chest when he was on the stretcher....after medics assessed him on the 'M Stage' he was rushed by stretcher onto an air ambulance helicopter and airlifted to 'John Radcliffe Hospital' in Oxford..."


Ford will be out of action for up to eight weeks due to his injuries.
