"Jem And The Holograms"

According to new reports, director John M. Chu ("G.I. Joe: Retaliation") is planning to adapt the 1980's toy/cartoon TV series "Jem And The Holograms" for the big screen:

"...'Jem and the Holograms', created by Christy Marx, was a Toei Aimation TV series airing from 1985 to 1988 in US first-run syndication, following owner 'Jerrica Benton', her singer alter-ego 'Jem', her band the 'Holograms' and their adventures..."

The series was a joint collaboration by Hasbro, Marvel Productions and Sunbow Productions, the same team responsible for "G.I. Joe" and "Transformers" cartoons.
