"Magic: The Gathering" @ Fox

According to reports, the Hasbro fantasy card game "Magic: The Gathering" is being developed by 20th Century Fox into a potential movie franchise.

Simon Kinberg will produce with Stephen Davis and Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner.

"Magic: The Gathering" was first launched as a card game by Wizards of the Coast.

Wizards of the Coast was acquired by Hasbro in 1999.

Created by Richard Garfield and introduced in 1993, "Magic" continues to thrive, with more than twelve million players, each game representing a battle between mighty wizards, known as 'planeswalkers', who employ spells, artifacts, and creatures depicted on individual cards to defeat their opponents.

So called 'Sleeper' '"Magic" cards can be extremely valuable due to their rarity and utility in gameplay tournaments with the most famous card 'Black Lotus', currently sold on eBay for $27,302.
