"Breaking Bad: Better Call Saul"

AMC’s "Breaking Bad" prequel spin-off series, "Better Call Saul" following lawyer 'Saul Goodman' (Bob Odenkirk), will debut early fall 2014, as a 'companion piece' to the original "Breaking Bad" series, according to creator Vince Gilligan, that could include the resurrection of dead "Breaking Bad" characters that were alive during the early years.

"Why not shoot 'Saul' in the same way?'" said Gilligan. "Let’s shoot it in Albuquerque, let’s get as much of the crew back together as possible, and let’s do it the way we did it before so that it will be of a piece with that pre-existing fictional universe that we had so much fun creating...

"We’ve had to find the ongoing itch that Saul needs to scratch, so to speak, or else we wouldn’t have much of a show."

"Breaking Bad" co-executive producer Peter Gould created the Irish character 'Saul McGill' aka 'Saul Goodman' in Season 2 of "Breaking Bad", portrayed by Odenkirk.

As for character cameos from the "Breaking Bad" universe appearing on the show, including dead "BB" characters who were very much alive in the prequel years, Gilligan, who will direct the pilot episode of the series, is very much attracted to the idea.

"Personally, I’d have a hard time resisting putting all these guys in for a cameo or two every now and then", he said.
