"Our Tink is very strong," said "Once Upon A Time" executive producer Edward Kisis. "She's a lot of fun and not afraid to go out and have a few shots. And although her heart is usually in the right place, she is mischievous..."
"Captain Hook has a history with 'Tink'," said McIver about her character, "and wants to find her to help lead the team to Peter Pan's camp.
Viewers will see Tinker Bell in different stages of her life, including during interactions with the 'Blue Fairy' and the 'Evil Queen', according to executive producer Adam Horowitz.
"Tink has gone through an evolution in our story," said Horowitz. "She begins in one place and ends in another."
The character 'Tinker Bell' was created by author J. M. Barrie for the 1904 play "Peter Pan" and its 1911 novelization "Peter and Wendy".
At first only a supporting character described by her creator as "a common fairy", her animated incarnation for Disney in the 1953 feature "Peter Pan", made her an unofficial mascot of The Walt Disney Company, and the centerpiece of its 'Disney Fairies' media franchise including the direct-to-DVD film series "Tinker Bell".
In her animated form she leaves a trail of twinkling pixie dust.
