Sneak Peek more spoiler footage and images from the third season of Showtime's Emmy award-winning dramatic series "Homeland", starring Claire Danes and Damian Lewis, debuting September 29, 2013.
In the series, Danes ("Temple Grandin") plays bipolar CIA agent "Carrie Mathison' with co-star Lewis ("Band Of Brothers") as 'Sgt. Nicholas Brody', a former 'US Marine Corps Scout Sniper'.
Mathison believes that Brody, held captive by terrorists as a POW, was 'turned' by the enemy and now threatens the United States.
Developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa the series is based on creator Gideon Raff's Israeli series "Hatufim" (aka "Prisoners of War").
"...'Homeland' Season 3 opens during the aftermath of the attack that decimated the US intelligence apparatus, and prompted a global manhunt for the world's most wanted terrorist, 'Nick Brody' (Lewis).
"As 'Carrie' (Danes) and 'Saul' (Mandy Patinkin) begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered professional and personal lives, they are swept up in the political and media firestorm surrounding the attack and the subsequent search for Brody's whereabouts..."
"Homeland" has won several awards, including the 2012 'Primetime Emmy Award' for 'Outstanding Drama Series' and the 2011 and 2012 'Golden Globe Award' for 'Best Television Series – Drama'.
Lewis also won the 'Primetime Emmy Award' for 'Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series', with co-star Danes winning an Emmy for 'Lead Actress in a Drama Series'.
