Is Katee Sackhoff 'Captain Marvel' ?

The answer is no. But with Disney's upcoming "Star Wars" reportedly focusing on a tough female heroine, actress Katee Sackhoff ("Battlestar Galactica"), is the actress behind a new viral rumor that positions her, along with Brie Larson, for the role of Marvel Comics' 'Captain Marvel' (aka 'Ms. Marvel'), should the character appear in director Joss Whedon's prepping "Avengers" sequel, "The Avengers: Age Of Ultron".

"I love the idea of playing Ms. Marvel", said Sackhoff in a recent interview.

"There’s been some stuff going on. There’s been a lot of checking of availability.

"I don’t quite know exactly. I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know. There’s been a lot of questions about the first quarter of next year..."

'Captain Marvel' (aka 'Ms. Marvel', 'Binary', 'Warbird') was created by Marvel Comics' writer Roy Thomas and illustrator Gene Colan, as 'Major Carol Danvers', a member of the United States Air Force in Marvel Super-Heroes #13 (March 1968) and as 'Ms. Marvel'—a fusion of alien 'Kree' and human genes—in "Ms. Marvel" #1 (January 1977).

The character then featured as 'Captain Marvel' in a false reality created by mutant 'Scarlet Witch'...

...pandering to Carol's subconscious desire to be accepted as the most popular superhero on Earth.

Together with 'Iron Man', Carol also became a principal advocate of the 'Superhuman Registration Act'.

She then made an agreement with 'Tony Stark', director of 'S.H.I.E.L.D.', to lead a covert strike team called 'Operation: Lightning Storm'.

Its mission: to eliminate super-villains before they became global threats.
