"Tarzan" Raised By 'Mangani' Apes

According to reports, Warners have signed "Harry Potter" director David Yates to take on a new film adaptation of author Edgar Rice Burroughs' "Tarzan", now celebrating its 100th  anniversary.

Yates directed the "Potter" films "The Order of the Phoenix" (2007) followed by "Half-Blood Prince", "Deathly Hallows: Part 1" and "Deathly Hallows: Part 2".

'Tarzan' originally debuted in a 1912 magazine publication as an archetypal feral child, raised in the African jungles by the 'Mangani' great apes.

The character's first book adventure was followed by twenty-five sequels, three authorized books by other authors, and innumerable works in other media.
