Now that Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master" is in the can and ready for a Weinstein release September 2012, the director is working on his next film project, the 1970's set California detective story, "Inherent Vice", based on author Thomas Pynchon's 2009 fiction novel of the same name, to star Robert Downey Jr.

Shasta asks Doc to help foil a plot allegedly hatched by Mickey's wife 'Sloane' and her lover, 'Riggs Warbling', to have Mickey admitted to a mental health institution..."
