According to reports, Disney-owned ABC has greenlit a live-action TV pilot adapting Marvel Comics' "S.H.I.E.L.D":
'S.H.I.E.L.D.', the espionage and secret military law-enforcement agency in the Marvel Comics Universe was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in Marvel Comics' "Strange Tales" #135 (Aug. 1965).
The acronym originally stood for 'Supreme Headquarters, International Espionage, Law-Enforcement Division. In 1991 the name was changed to 'Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate'.
S.H.I.E.L.D.'s most persistent enemy is 'HYDRA', a fanatical terrorist organization founded by former Third Reich war criminal 'Baron Wolfgang von Strucker'.
