"The Dark Knight Rises": Masks and Costumes Ban



Despite audiences staying away from movie theaters, haunted by the horror of the Colorado shootings that has stained "The Dark Knight Rises", Warner Bros. reports setting a record for the biggest gross for a 2D movie. Internationally the film earned $88 million from 17 markets for a worldwide total of $249 million after one weekend:


Meanwhile movie theatre chains throughout the world are beefing up security, conducting extensive wand pat-downs and banning  audience members from wearing costumes and masks.


"...Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ 'The Dark Knight Rises' is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s 'Batman' trilogy. Leading an all-star international cast, Oscar winner Christian Bale. again plays the dual role of 'Bruce Wayne'/'Batman'. The film also stars Anne Hathaway, as 'Selina Kyle', Tom Hardy as 'Bane', Marion Cotillard as 'Miranda Tate' and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as 'John Blake'. 


"Returning to the main cast, Oscar winner Michael Caine plays 'Alfred', Gary Oldman is 'Commissioner Gordon' and Oscar winner Morgan Freeman reprises the role of 'Lucius Fox'.


The film is produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Charles Roven, who previously teamed on Nolan's "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight".
